Zavier Gussett's media background & portfolio

Zavier Gussett
Aside from earning my Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism, my passion for sports & media have brought me great experiences in a range of environments.
I began "Call The Huddle" media in 2018, and since has flourished as a sports platform that features regular content for 15,000+ followers, along with interviews and exclusive athlete collaborations.
Self-managing the platform has provided an entrepreneurial mindset that developed into an ambition for all skills in the field.

Focused Goals
1
Expand Call The Huddle
Since 2018, I've learned many skills and lessons from expanding Call The Huddle's brand. Regardless of my long-term position, I have goals to expand the page on each notable social media site, and continue to innovate content.
In person and virtual interviews have been a focus of mine, but I look toward covering more events and social connections to expand upon content.
Athletes, Coaches, Agents and other figures carry crucial perspectives within sports, and so I hope to expand how I share insightful topics.
2
Utilize Designs & Creativity
Through my career path as a journalist,
I've come to love designing while optimizing content accessibility. I've learned 3D and motion graphics along with video production from experience as a freelance designer. Growing supportive skillsets such as photography, videography and television anchoring has provided me more flexibility in personal work, as it's widened my process.
I know that it's been deeply valuable to my multimedia work and understanding of audience engagement, while contributing to my creative ability during researching.
By expanding my experience of design organization and story layouts, I know my journalism and story creation will be stronger by nature.
3
Team-Oriented growth
Throughout my entire life, I've really enjoyed working in tight-knit groups. Growing up an athlete and quarterback in football, I learned to prioritize everyone in the group beside myself.
I've learned to transition that into life and my work settings, which has shown me how I react within competitive and social team environments. During my time at Penn State as a journalist, I grew in constantly talking to other professions, lifestyles and differing opinions. My ability to share my instincts and experiences in those settings has made me a better communicator in all instances.
As a beat reporter, I've learned how to be self-sustaining through new environments. However, I've found the best way to continuously grow is by being inclusive in every stage of work and life.
